I'd rather wait for a word from more reliable sources (no disrespect meant to Gina and dm2010 but you know ) _________________ Gahan/DM forum |

Yeah, I would be happy about that...
Well, I don't want to post rumours in the news section, so I'll wait a bit until an official announcement... _________________ All this running around, well it's getting me down,

| I heard the same rumours as well as a tour in the fall of 2008. My understanding is the band wants to celebrate their 20th anniversary landmark concert at the Rose Ball in 1988 with a tour in 2008. |

I heard today that dm possibly go into studio in Spring... Since Feb is not really Spring yet, story is changing?
Anyway do you really think they could manage to do an album and get ready for tour all in 6-8 months just to be on time with tour "2008"? _________________ Gahan/DM forum |

as much as i would want new dm asap, i have to say that i would want them to spend more time in the studio making it all it can be than rushing it out for '08. _________________ "open the window and out go ideals" |

I agree, all the amazing albums like violator, SOFAD and exciter took months to record and tinkle with. Playing The Angel was recorded and produced very quickly, although it sounds great, it's albums like exciter that I really adore and cannot stop listening to. It's also a relaxing album

its funny when you think about the fact that they released more albums in the '81-'90 era than everything else since then.
that's not to say that i think the later albums, SOFAD - PTA have been necessarily bad or not produced well, but i enjoyed them all just the same. though they may have been rushed due to popularity in the 80's, especially with the synth pop genre being what it was, i think they can pull out the music that represents them in any amount of time.
however, in my personal opinion, i think they, themselves would be more satisfied as a band with the product they put out if they spent more time recording and producing a good quality album. i've always felt that ultra and exciter, despite a lack of fan support, have been an important part of dm and their lives, and that they themselves as musicians were more than happy with them.
so, whenever it happens, it happens. i can honestly say, i can't wait, but then again, i can.
and to top it off...
...i bought dead or alive's "youthquake" last night
people always think its weird when i come up to the counter with cds that are older than i am _________________ "open the window and out go ideals" |

Ha Ha I get the same I'm wearing a Human League T-shirt today with the Dare Tour 2007 ablbum cover on, I'm getting really funny and wierd looks but I don't mind I accept that I'm different from everyone else, I think I'm the only true mode fan in my college!
I love all depeche mode stuff, it's great! But I agree when you say Ultra and Exciter were important albums, especially Ultra with regards to Dave's state of recovery at the time and with Alan Wilder departed. It was important in the fact that they could produce an album without Wilder and still be enjoying it!
Exciter showed a different side to Mode that is totally new, I like to call it mellow mode. The songs are beautiful and well written and Dave's voice is fantastic.
Would anyone like to comment?
Cheers

As far as I know, no DM Album in 2008 and that means no Tour ! _________________ Even the stars look brighter tonight
