Hi all,

I am especially adressing this post the "seniors" DM fans Very Happy the ones who know the band fm long ago and must normally have a good critical eye on the 3 bio's here below.
My questions are : are they worth it ?? Which one is good ? Are they necessary ??

Thx for your feedback.... Very Happy

I read book named "Stripped". And first what I said after finishing of reading it was, that "Stripped" is too much critic. After reading was only 1 thing which I meant, that Depeche Mode is the worst band in the world. WTF, they are best band for me in the world, but book is very critical (reviews about band and shows are mainly only from journalists, who don't like DM).. Sad
But yeah, there are good parts with good technical informations about recording of albums.

I have all three and I'd say first and last are a must. The middle one is an extra, a nice extra Smile
I like Stripped although it almost bored me to death with tons of unnecessary details about every single synthesizer Vince and Mart had in 1979-1980. Dang. I'd rather read about the actual recording process than what kind of things these instruments could and could not do. Especially considering Martin had no idea how to change from one sound to another. Surprised:

Black Celebration is a different approach though it is harder to read than Stripped. But I like so much better.
be careful if you want to buy, there are a couple of versions, the latest one contains PTA (a little) and if I'm not mistaken I found it only at one seller.

Some Great reward is sort of dry... Maybe my personal impression.

I used to have the one in the middle. some great reward.

sure they do Wink But they are not 100% lies...

BTW, sort of Wink I particularly liked the lie THE BAND were telling the world in 1993... all the way up to 1997. No, Dave is fine, no addictions whatsoever. He just changed his lifestyle...
Don't believe everybody... including the band. They are humans and have same qualities as we do.

Point taken. I just feel that a writer would have enough interesting truth

on these guys to fill a book. It just seems a bit lazy to me.
