| I've always wondered what dmode would have been like if Vince Clarke never left the band. Would Dave be comfortable singing Oooh sometimes & OOO la mor. Good thing he did leave, to thinkof it. |

I couldn't even imagine it. Dave's voice is almost too perfect for the band's songs. His haunting baritone and Mart's deep lyrics (and sometimes Dave's  ) further the intrigue of the band. Good riddance, I say.

| agree that it was a good thing that Vince left - Vince left already in november 81 - that is 29 years ago - try to think of the massive development that DM has had since then. Vince was and is very "light" pop oriented whereas DM has discoverd so many different mysic styles like ROCK, Gospel, Blues ballads etc. - The break was bound to happen nad I am glad is was already in 81' |
