| For me the era 1989-1990 is the all-time best. The mood, how they worked in the studio, the mixing, the 'shocking' first single, the best video, the perfect DM-album, and great songs on the tour. The Violator and the World Violation was the top of their career in my eyes. |

I think it is still Violator times... Been years, more than a decade and it does it for me every time. _________________ Gahan/DM forum |

'83-'88 is my favourite era.
Love reading about the making of Construction Time when they discovered samplers and all had a hand in finding sounds for the album. Even Fletch.
Also love reading about making of BC. That's my favourite album.
And I love how their image got cool in '87 with Anton's videos.
Don't like the SOFAD era. Love the album and the Devotional DVD performance is one of their best, but Dave's addiction was bad (and it's boring to read about), and the atmosphere in the studio which partially led to Alan's departure isn't good. The documentary in the SOFAD remaster was depressing for that era. |

from a personal point of view I would say Violator because it's an important part of my life but musically I would say the german years (some great rewards, black celebration) and emotionally the drug years... Song of faith and devotion. _________________ A world full of nothing |

I'm a long time fan like many of us and I've been playing their albums a hundred thousand times each...but in the end SOME GREAT REWARD & BLACK CELEBRATION are my fav!
I love the "industrial years" above all, SGR, Shake the disease, etc And I'm sad DM is no longer interested in that...The most creative year to me. |

| I would say mine is black celebration and music for the masses but mostly music for the masses era DM because of the 101 concert and the album is such an epic one for a band written off as a boy band pop act |
I'm absolutely with you! |
