No, Not midi, actual sounds that they load into their sampers. I figured that there must be something out there somewhere.... _________________ Jay Tonks |

Why would they want to keep them? I'd think the sound recordings
would be discarded pretty soon... No real purpose they could serve I guess. _________________ Gahan/DM forum |

People, you are getting me wrong!
What I am talking about is when the band samples into whatever keyboard that they are using for studio/live work. A lot of time and effort goes into transferring the original samples into whatever machine they choose to use on tour. They would be kept in a SCSI or .wav format, and I highly doubt that they would go through the re-sampling proceedre every time from the master tape
I use samplers on a daily basis and I guess that I am just curious to see if there is anything like this out there..... _________________ Jay Tonks |

Ah, OK, now it's clear... But I'm afraid these stuff would never see the light anyway... Never heard of anything like that circulating. The only thing I ever got my hands on was the backing tape. You know, what they use as playback, without any recordings live... _________________ Gahan/DM forum |

You might want to start your career as a burgler about now. Just kidding...maybe.
Mark Stent (from the SOFAD era) has his own library of sounds used for that particular DM album. Some of those sounds appeared on Massive Attack's Mezzanine album. If you can somehow become connected to him, you might be able to obtain some of those sounds.

| Would love to get my hands on some of those sounds too - particularly as they used to put so much effort into sound creation. I remember coming across some soundfonts a few years ago, but they were just sounds somebody had lifted off DM tracks, and the quality wasn't very good. |
